In 1998, Dalane Folkemuseum went from being an organisation to becoming a foundation. This resulted in the establishment of the Museum Friends Association. Today, the association has about 300 members. They organise lectures, outings and social events. They also have a department dedicated to genealogy. Read more about their events here.

Purpose
The purpose guiding the Museum Friends Association is that the museum should be a central concern both for politicians and people in general, in all four municipalities in the Dalane region.
Rights
Membership in the Museum Friends Association provides:
- Free access to the museum's exhibitions during opening hours.
(this also applies to spouses and children under 16 years of age) - The museum's yearbook sent free of charge when it is published.
- 10% discount on the museum's crockery series in the museum shop at Egersund Fayancemuseum. Applies to Alkemugge, Bekkeblom and Nisse.
Membership fee
It costs 200 kr a year to be a member of the Museum Friends Association.
